Meet Lucas, a 34-year-old rider from the Vercors mountains near Villard-de-Lans, France. Formerly racing enduro and riding everything from XCO to gravity trails, he built this Kona Process X CR/DL to handle bike park laps, shuttle days, and technical singletrack, all while still being fun to pedal.

Frame: Kona Process X CR/DL size L, chain stays set to long (450mm). Note that the frame and fork are protected by a custom Slicy kit.

The SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain keeps things simple, reliable, and easy to service. Short 165mm cranks help reduce pedal strikes, while the 34T chainring keeps the bike fast on open terrain.

A RockShox Zeb Ultimate paired with a Vivid Ultimate shock gives the bike a super planted feel in rough terrain while still keeping enough support to pedal efficiently. The 180/167mm setup is perfect for aggressive trail and freeride riding.

Brakes: SRAM Maven Ultimates with 200mm HS2 rotors deliver huge stopping power and excellent control on long descents. The setup is ideal for bike park laps and steep alpine terrain.

Cockpit: The OneUp carbon cockpit keeps the front end comfortable and controlled with a 50mm rise bar and 780mm width. ODI Elite grips and the short stem complete a clean, aggressive setup.

Dropper Post: The OneUp V3 210mm dropper gives maximum clearance on steep descents while still fitting Lucas’ shorter inseam perfectly.

Wheels: The mullet wheel setup combines the confidence and rollover of a 29” front wheel with the agility of a 27.5” rear. WTB CZR carbon rims keep the build stiff and responsive without sacrificing durability.

Bearings: Cane Creek and Enduro Bearings components were chosen for durability and smooth performance, especially for wet and demanding mountain conditions.

Pedals: Kona Wah Wah alloy pedals provide a large, grippy platform with standout red accents that tie the build together visually.
