World Cup number two is in the books for Kona Factory Rider Tayte Proulx-Royds, who made her return to the circuit for round three of the UCI DH World Cup in Leogang. After missing round two, Tayte came in ready to build on her strong start to the season, and she delivered.
“Had the best time over in Leogang and I was really happy to feel more and more confident in my riding,” she says. “We had some very tight racing, and I’m super happy that the time gaps are getting smaller.”
Tayte looked strong throughout practice, and despite a wild qualifying run that included catching another rider and finishing with a flat tire, she still put in a solid effort to earn a spot in the finals.
“My finals run was super solid and I hit most of my lines,” she says. “I kept my quali results consistent into finals — P8 at the end of the day, which I can’t complain about considering my time was about 3 seconds off of top 5.”
Racing in the Junior Women’s field aboard her custom Process X DH, Tayte’s stoked on the progress and already eyeing the next round.
“Really happy to be building my speed and making gains every race. Headed home for a good training block, then we go again!”
